As a parent who is also a Trekkie, I am doing my part to raise not only the the next generation of Star Trek fan but also the bright future of our planet with a love and appreciation for science, engineering, and the exploration of new ideas. May Jayden's dreams someday help him lead us all where no one has gone before...

I've been a fan since September 8, 1966, and brainwashed my children and all of their friends into being fans when reruns started. This is my son, aged four, in 1969. I have an extensive "Star Trek" memorabilia collection, posters on the wall, had a dealers' table at conventions in the 70's and 80's but have chosen to enter just this photo in the contest.

I have been a serious Star Trek fan since the early 1970s. I have memorized Star Trek trivia from all five series and have won every trivia contest I have entered. I have designed two Star Trek miniature ship combat rule systems. I also play many Star Trek based board/card/role-playing/miniature games. I collect Star Trek models, miniatures, costumes, and other paraphernalia. I am a member of a local Star Trek fan club (USS Saroyan) that participates in many events including Star Trek cosplay at various conventions and other events.

I have been a lifelong fan of Star Trek. I started watching the original series on NBC as a child and have watched all the different films and series throughout my life. Each series and film has a special meaning to me, much like songs each one happened when important memories were created in my life, the birth of my children, my journeys around the world.

I've watched every series and every episode of Star Trek, to include the big screen movies. Each Halloween I dress up as a character from one of the series. I try to make some part of the costume myself. Like I did with Laforge visor in the picture I uploaded. I watch H&I every day just to see the back to back to back Star Trek series. I got the kids watching it too. I just love watching Star Trek and the message that the original series and others series tried to teach us about working together no matter where you were from.

I always loved sci-fi shows but when I met my husband he introduced me to Star Trek and I started watching Enterprise and I've been hooked ever since.

I enjoy Gene Roddenberry's vision of the future - not because of the special effects or the space ships - but because it illustrates a future for humanity based on hope and enlightenment for all. I truly believe in our ability to overcome our vices and to come together to achieve higher goals. Star Trek embodies this ideal effortlessly.

I loved the ideas of hope, family/friendship, sustainability, etc but most importantly the idea that we are all the same no matter where we come from. I recently got a Star Trek tattoo ("to boldly go" on my ankle) and attended my first convention in which I met the majority of the next gen cast. I live and breathe Star Trek and wake up every morning with a smile on my face knowing it exists and that I can disappear into the world with the characters even if just for a little while!

How many Star Trek fans 1) Know what a skant is AND 2) Have one and will wear it to Comicpalooza 3) Have made a pilgrimage to Vulcan, Alberta AND 4) Tried to steal the Back to the Future DeLorean to go ahead to 2368 to join Starfleet!
