Kevin Sorbo knew that playing Hercules in Hercules: The Legendary Journeys would be a life changing opportunity.

As soon as Sorbo was cast in the role in the mid-'90s, he sensed the series would be a smash. That being said, he didn't foresee it becoming a global phenomenon.

"The show peaked with airing in 176 countries," Sorbo recently told The Albuquerque Journal. "They were sticking to mythology, and it was really a nice tongue-in-check way of putting it together."

With the on the air today — right here on H&I, in fact — it has tapped into a new audience.

Sorbo continues to act, having recently wrapped his 50th film, Let There Be Light, but he still finds time for Hercules fans. He will be appearing at the Santa Fe Comic Con. The 58 year old pops in to about five convention appearances per year.

When not miggling with fans, Sorbo prioritizes his outdoor time. "I haven't been to Santa Fe in a while," he says. "I used to go out to New Mexico and ski in Taos. I'm a bit of a golf nut, too. Hopefully, I'll get some time to golf while I'm there."

Mainly though, Kevin Sorbo is just looking forward to getting some face time with the fans. "What a lot of actors don't realize is that we wouldn't have careers if it wasn't for the fans. I get to spend a few minutes with them and talk about these TV shows. It's really nice," he told the paper.
