One of the hottest trends in the bar and restaurant industry is the pop-up. Especially popular in big cities, these limited-time only establishments tend to feature special guest chefs or bartenders and many of them also abide by theme. People who are huge fans of kitsch or a pop-up’s particular theme might even make a pilgrimage to check it out before it shutters its doors forever.

Star Wars fans raced to Hollywood for the opportunity to have a drink at Scum & Villainy Cantina, modeled after the Mos Eisley Cantina from the Star Wars universe. The pop-up opened in 2016 and was supposed to close on July 30, 2017. Due to the high volume of interest, patrons had to purchase tickets to ensure they got in when they showed up. Walk-ins were allowed, but there would be a line! For $20, you’d get two drinks and a souvenir glass – as well as the opportunity to spend two hours in another galaxy!

Why is this whole article written in past tense, you ask? Because according to Thrillist, Scum & Villainy is now a permanent location located at 6377 Hollywood Boulevard. It’s now free to attend, but don’t be surprised if you still have to wait in line for a little while!

If you’re a casual Star Wars fan or someone who’s worked diligently on the perfect cosplay Scum & Villainy encourages you to make the most of your night out and show up in any costume you please – even if it’s not from the Star Wars universe! The cantina’s website does warn you though, that any costume weapons will be inspected at the door and may not be allowed in if it could be considered dangerous.

"I actually love it when Trekkies come in. They play along better than anybody," owner J.C. Reifenberg told Thrillist. "They walk around with their data pads out and they scan all the customers, like 'Wow, we must be caught in a Borg time parallax.'"

Now that Scum & Villainy isn’t going anywhere, it’s hosting trivia and theme nights as well. So, get in your Speeder and head over!
