The Comics Code Authority changed everything in 1954. Prior to the self-regulation, the comic book industry pumped out lurid crime and horror comics. After the Comics Code, comics cleaned up.

Instead of mobsters and ghouls, superheroes and television characters filled the four-color pages. The imprints Dell and Gold Key mined most of TV for ideas.

Tons of TV shows — from sitcoms and dramas to Westerns and sci-fi — were adapted as comic books. Let's see if you can recognize some favorite characters in printed form.

Try to match the comic book panels to the TV show. Good luck!
